End of the Page.

Oh taking your advice I'm looking on the bright side
And balancing the whole thing
But often times those words get tangled up in lines
And the bright lights turn to night...

And I'm all about them words
Over numbers, unencumbered numbered words
Hundreds of pages, pages, pages for words
More words then I had ever heard and I feel so alive

Cause you and I both loved
What you and I spoke of
And others just read of
Others only heard of the love that I love.

Little things.

I started working at the MC office on Monday, and there's been lots of randomness popping up. The washroom is just down the hall, and this is what I heard this morning:

Sveta (Outgoing VP X): Excuse me, but what are you doing in my bathroom?
Seba (Outgoing MCP): blowing my nose. *blows nose* and it's not your bathroom.
Sveta: But it's the "damas" bathroom.
Seba: *continues blowing his nose*
Sveta: ok... get your ass out of here!!

Another randomy: I totally miss the yogurt parfaits from Starbucks, and it's such a coincidence that Maxi (outgoing VP TM, incoming mcp) looooves yogurt, because everyday we've been eating yogurt and granola for lunch... like a couple cups of them at a time... it's such a stupid thing, really, 'cause it's not that there's nothing to eat but this addiction is just starting to get out of hand... and since everything is super cheap here I can just run down the the supermarket to buy "fresh" yogurt everyday...

EDIT: I don't get why I lost my name to "Canadian Girl".

McBucks

I have been in 3 McDonald's ever since landing xx days ago.

It is so utterly disgusting how consistent they are with everything - from their branding to their prices.

How sad is it that companies like these don't even loosen the leash on developing countries but go on putting themselves on prestigious platforms??

Here McDonald's is a wonderful restaurant with beautiful lounging chairs, separate counters for ice cream and coffee, and waitresses assigning seats for you 'cause it's so busy.

And by the way, the first Starbucks in Argentina opened last week. I haven't seen it without a lineup that doesn't go waaay out the door yet.

Improving my French in Argentina

As the days go by here 1/2 way across the globe, it never ceases to amaze me just how small the world really is...

1) In accordance with my ICX work, I just came back from a really good meeting with a room/apartment searching company/entrepreneur to create some sort of partnership with the LC. She turned out to be an alumnus that recruited the previous LCP of Buenos Aires (who's in Malaysia as an intern now), as well as recruited another member who became a CEEDer at AIESEC Yale. The AIESEC Yale CEEDer from Bs As then pushed an EP to come here to work who just arrived this past Friday, and now the entrepreneur is set to look for an apartment for the trainee...

2) Last night while queuing at McDonalds with some trainees and a friend, we heard someone with a French accent while ordering combo #3. As a sucker for Frenchies, we decided to approach him to see where he was from. Turns out that he's studying at HEC (originally from France), and is here for 2 months just to volunteer for Help Argentina. Apparently he's heard a great deal about AIESEC and has a bunch of friends in it, but has been too busy to join. Well, with my super natural skills in selling AIESEC, he definitely bought it and thus I recruited a member for September before HEC even started their Fall recruitment.

Edit: This weekend I brought this guy to an AIESEC event (my welcome party!) and intro'd him to Tristan, originally from @ HEC back in Canada. Well, it wasn't much of an introduction since they were about to live together while apartment searching last year.

3) I went to the goodbye party of an EP leaving for Belgium to work in InBev, who probably will be working with JK in Leuven as well.
